Awareness and Sensitisation program for workers organised by Office of Deputy Chief Labour Commssioner (Central), Mumbai

Mumbai, 12 March 2022: Office of Deputy Chief Labour Commssioner (Central), Mumbai today organised a programme to generate awareness and sensitization of workmen and employers.

The program organised at Vir Jijamata Nagar, Mahul Road, Mumbai was organised with the aim to create awareness of labour laws among workmen and employers. A large number of workers including women from nearby areas participated in the awareness programme.

In his welcome address, Shri Tej Bahadur Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Mumbai informed about the primary rights and duties of workmen and employers and sensitised them to follow law in their own interest.

Sri Vijay S Agashe, ED, HPCL also enlightened the audience as to how such adherence may contribute to national development.

In order to effectively communicate the rights of the workers, an interesting skit was performed by a team of HPCL employees, Officers of Deputy Labour Commissionerate Central,  Mumbai regarding various issues faced by the workers, thier rights and the role of the Labour Ministry.

A help-desk for registration of workers on the e Shram portal had been organised. Pamphlets with relevant information were also distributed to workers.

Smt. Sunita Shukla, ED HR, RCF Ltd, Shri A K Agarwal, Ex Dy CLC, Ahmedabad, Shri VM  Sawant, Ex Welfare Commissioner, Nagpur were also present at the event.

The program is a part of celebration of Iconic Week of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. In the series, various programmes were also organised at KRCL,  NPCIL, MMRCL and ONGC,  on various dates during the week.
