BEST Transport Services Officially Selected as G-20 Summit Partner in Mumbai
Mumbai, 22nd May 2023: The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has been designated as the official transport partner for the highly anticipated G-20 Summit taking place in Mumbai from May 21st to 23rd. As part of this prestigious role, the BEST fleet of buses is being dedicated to transporting delegates attending the G-20 conference within the city. Notably, the delegates from the G-20 environment group were among the first to experience the newly launched electric premium bus service offered by BEST.
This achievement marks a moment of immense pride for the BASE initiative, as it becomes the first city transport service in India to receive authorization for transporting G-20 delegates.
Expressing gratitude, Lokesh Chandra, the General Manager of BEST Initiatives, extended thanks to the Government of India and the Maharashtra state government for the opportunity to serve the G-20 delegates.
Emphasizing their commitment to providing a comfortable and dynamic experience, Chandra highlighted BEST’s premium electric buses as the mode of transportation for the delegates, hoping that their experience would inspire all Mumbaikars to embrace this service.
The recently launched premium bus service by BEST offers a convenient and speedy mode of transportation, accessible through a user-friendly app. Currently, the service operates from Thane to Bandra-Kurla Complex and from Kharghar to the Airport, catering to a daily ridership of over seven thousand passengers. Presently, BEST boasts a fleet of 60 premium air-conditioned buses, with an additional 40 buses set to be inducted in the coming week. This expansion will bring the total number of premium buses in the BEST fleet to 100, further enhancing the transport options available to the citizens of Mumbai.
With its selection as the official transport partner for the G-20 Summit, BEST solidifies its position as a leading provider of reliable, eco-friendly, and premium transportation services in Mumbai. The recognition received through this partnership highlights the city’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in the public transport sector.
