Bollywood Icon Amitabh Bachchan Hospitalized for Angioplasty Procedure in Mumbai

Mumbai, 16th March 2024: Renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan underwent an angioplasty procedure at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital. His admission on Friday morning was accompanied by stringent security measures. Reports suggest that the decision for the angioplasty arose during a routine checkup prompted by discomfort experienced while attending events.

Expressing gratitude, Bachchan took to social media, sharing a cryptic tweet and a video related to his Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) team. While the surgery hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, Bachchan’s recent health history indicates a proactive approach to addressing medical issues.

Angioplasty, the procedure Bachchan underwent, is aimed at clearing blockages in coronary arteries to restore adequate blood flow to the heart, obviating the need for open-heart surgery.

Earlier this year, Bachchan underwent wrist surgery, sharing updates alongside actor Akshay Kumar. In addition to these recent health challenges, a setback during the filming of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ last March necessitated bed rest due to a strained back and muscle tear, which also caused delays in his commitments, including missing the San Diego Comic-Con.

Despite health concerns, Bachchan remains committed to his work. He has been actively involved in filming Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and his collaboration with superstar Rajinikanth in ‘Thalaivar 170,’ marking their reunion after thirty-three years. Their dedication to his craft remains evident as he strives to deliver memorable experiences to his audience.
