Building Collapsed In Bhiwandi, Residents Feared To Be Trapped Under Debris; Rescue Work Started
Bhiwandi, 29th April 2023: Another terrible incident of a three-story building collapse took place in the city of Bhiwandi, adjacent to Mumbai. It is feared that 15 to 20 people are trapped under the debris. This incident is from the Walpada area of Bhiwandi. At present, relief and rescue operations are underway at the site.
The said building consists two storeys. Upon getting information about the accident, NDRF teams of the Fire Brigade and local police rushed to the spot. According to preliminary information, three to four families lived in this building.
An ambulance is currently at the scene. The injured are being taken to the hospital after being pulled out from under the debris. Currently, there are no fatalities. The said incident happened around 2:30 pm.
It is said that there is a warehouse under this building. People lived on the top floors of the building. It is also said that 30 to 35 people were working in this godown. Due to the collapse of the building, it is predicted that all the labourers and other residents are trapped under the building.
According to a labourer working in a godown in the same building, some of them stopped at the godown for lunch. “Suddenly there was a sound of something falling. So we ran out of the godown and escaped the accident.” An eyewitness said some people were still buried under the rubble.
