Dawood Money Laundering Case: BJP MLAs Protest Outside Maharashtra Assembly Demanding Nawab Malik’s Resignation

Mumbai, 21st March 2022: BJP MLAs’ protest outside the Maharashtra Assembly over the Dawood Ibrahim money laundering case continues today. BJP MLAs are demanding the resignation of state minister Nawab Malik.

Significantly, since March 4, BJP MLAs have been continuously protesting outside the assembly demanding the resignation of NCP leader Nawab Malik. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Malik on February 23 in the Dawood Ibrahim money laundering case. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has decided to take back his portfolio from the jailed Maharashtra cabinet minister Nawab Malik in a money laundering case. Giving information, a senior party leader said that Nawab Malik will not resign from the post of a cabinet minister. The NCP has also decided to ask Malik not to resign.

On the other hand, the opposition party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also demanding Malik’s resignation. In the state government, Malik held the portfolios of skill development and minority affairs. Malik is also the guardian minister of Parbhani and Gondia districts.

A senior party leader said the skill development portfolio would be given to health minister Rajesh Tope and the minority affairs department would be handed over to Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad. Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde has been given the charge of Parbhani district.

Minister of State for Power Prajakt Tanpure has been appointed as the new Guardian Minister of Gondia district. Maharashtra NCP State President and Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil told the media that the proposal for sharing the portfolios of Nawab Malik would be sent to the state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray who would send him to the Raj Bhavan.
