Elderly Man Dies in Mumbai High-Rise Fire at Skypan Apartments

Mumbai, 7th January 2025: A tragic fire broke out at a high-rise building in Mumbai’s Andheri on Monday night, resulting in the death of an elderly man. The blaze erupted on the 11th and 12th floors of Skypan Apartments, situated off Link Road, near Laxmi Industrial Estate in Andheri West. Firefighters quickly responded, deploying eight fire engines to control the flames.

Despite their efforts, a 75-year-old man lost his life. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the fire was contained in electric wiring, installations, and household items within one of the flats. Further details are awaited.

In a separate incident, police reported a shooting on P D’Mello Road in Mumbai around 10:30 pm on Monday. A person was injured, and a bag containing valuables was stolen. Mumbai Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and are investigating the matter.
