Fatal Road Accident Claims Life of 21-Year-Old Woman on Western Express Highway

Mumbai, 18th February 2024: In an incident on February 15, a 21-year-old woman, Prachi Sharma, lost her life, and her 19-year-old brother, Kshitij Sharma, sustained serious injuries in a road accident on the Western Express Highway (WEH) in Dahisar. The siblings, both BTech students residing in Mira Road, were riding a scooter when they were struck by a dumper, resulting in the fatal incident.

The mishap occurred around 9 am on the southbound arm of the WEH near Dahisar check-naka. The dumper, driven by Suraj Rajbhar, 45, suddenly swerved to the right, causing a critical situation for the scooter occupants. In an attempt to avoid a collision, Kshitij reduced speed and applied brakes. The abrupt movement of the dumper led to the siblings falling off the scooter and coming under the wheels of the heavy vehicle.
