Final Day of Nominations for 2024 Vidhan Sabha Election in Thane Draws 281 Candidates
Thane, 2nd November 2024: The final day for submitting nominations for the 2024 Vidhan Sabha General Election saw a substantial turnout of candidates in Thane district, with 281 nominations filed across 18 assembly constituencies.
Of these, 114 candidates are affiliated with various political parties, while 167 are independent candidates. Throughout the day, candidates filed their papers with the election officers in charge, underscoring a highly competitive race.
District Election Officer and Collector Ashok Shingare stated that the scrutiny of nomination forms is scheduled for October 30, 2024. Candidates have until November 4, 2024, to withdraw their nominations if desired.
