Maharashtra: RBL Bank Partners with Lighthouse Communities for Second Empowerment Hub in Ambivali

Mumbai, 15th February 2024: RBL Bank, in collaboration with The Lighthouse Communities, is driving positive change with the inauguration of its second Lighthouse center in Ambivali-KDMC on February 2, 2024. This transformative initiative, supported by Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation, GTT Foundation, and Lighthouse Communities Foundation, reflects the impactful outcomes achievable through collaborative efforts. RBL Bank’s significant contribution has played a crucial role in making this endeavor possible.

The Ambivali Lighthouse, established under RBL Bank’s CSR initiative, emerges as a hub for youth empowerment, offering a wide range of skill development programs and courses. Spanning an expansive 2700 square feet, the facility provides an encouraging environment for youth aged 18-35 from low-income communities to explore self-discovery and holistic development. RBL Bank’s support has been instrumental in renovating the space, setting up basic infrastructure, and sustaining day-to-day operations and skilling expenses.

The Lighthouse program operates nationally, spanning four states and ten cities, positively impacting the lives of 32,000 youth in Maharashtra alone. Focusing on ‘self-discovery,’ the program goes beyond traditional job-placement initiatives, empowering youth to uncover their potential, set personal goals, and chart a course towards a brighter future.

This public-private partnership model exemplifies RBL Bank’s commitment to fostering sustainable livelihoods and holistic development in Kalyan-Dombivali. Hon’ble Commissioner, KDMC, Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “Today marks a significant step towards empowering the youth of Kalyan Dombivali. Through this unique partnership, Lighthouse is not just providing jobs; it is enabling the youth to make informed career choices and shape their future.”

Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, Chairman of Lighthouse Communities, expressed gratitude to the dignitaries and community members present at the launch. He highlighted the program’s game-changing impact, stating, “The Lighthouse program, with its emphasis on ‘self-discovery,’ has been a game-changer, impacting the lives of thousands across Maharashtra. We believe in the power of partnerships, and this exemplary public-private partnership model is creating pathways for underprivileged youth, unlocking their potential and opening doors to a brighter future.”

Mr. Sumit Chauhan, Vice President – CSR at RBL Bank, attended the inaugural function as the representative from the bank. Dr. Uma Ganesh, Trustee, GTT Foundation, expressed pride in being part of an initiative that focuses on nurturing life skills beyond job placement.

The Lighthouse team invites the residents of Kalyan and Dombivali to participate in its free-of-cost programs, contributing to a brighter and more inclusive future.
