Malegaon Tops Maharashtra’s Summer Heat at 40 Degrees Celsius; Pune Records 37.3

Pune, 12th March 2024: As the scorching heat intensifies across Maharashtra, Malegaon has recorded the highest temperature of 40 degrees Celsius this summer. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports prevailing dry weather in the state, with the active cold front in the Himalayas showing limited impact on Maharashtra. Some cloudy weather has been observed in Vidarbha.

On Tuesday, Malegaon registered the highest maximum temperature in Maharashtra at 40 degrees Celsius. Other notable temperatures include 39.8 degrees Celsius in Solapur, 38.6 in Sangli, and 37.7 in Satara and Kolhapur. Pune recorded 37.3 degrees Celsius. In Vidarbha, Chandrapur reported 39.4, Washim 39.2, Brahmapuri 38.8, Nagpur 38.5, Wardha 39.2, Parbhani 38.4, and Udgir 37.8 degrees Celsius. Along the coast, Ratnagiri recorded 33.6 degrees Celsius, and Alibaug registered 31.1 degrees Celsius.

Alongside the rising maximum temperatures, there has been an increase in the minimum temperature as well. Harnai reported a minimum temperature of 24.4 degrees Celsius. Dahanu recorded a minimum temperature of 20.7 degrees Celsius, while Colaba reported 22.5 degrees Celsius, and Santa Cruz registered 20.9 degrees Celsius. The average minimum temperature in Vidarbha is around 20.0 degrees, with Marathwada averaging 22 degrees. Udgir reported a minimum temperature of 23.2, and Solapur recorded 23.9 degrees Celsius.
