Meet Captain Monica Khanna Who Safely Landed The SpiceJet Plane After It Caught Fire

Patna, 20th June 2022: The SpiceJet flight from Patna to Delhi caught fire mid-flight but Captain Monica Khanna skillfully landed the plane, saving many lives in the process.

One of the engines caught fire shortly after take-off from Patna, the plane with 185 passengers made an emergency landing at Patna airport.

According to Manavjit Singh Dhillon, Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna Police, the pilot in command Captain Monica Khanna, turned off the affected engine and landed the flight safely at Patna airport, with all passengers and crew members unharmed.

All passengers were successfully evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Gurcharan Arora, Spicejet’s chief of flight operations, praised the pilot for her prompt actions.

He said, “During the event, Captain Monika Khanna and first officer Balpreet Singh Bhatia performed admirably. They remained composed throughout and managed the plane expertly.”
