Mega Blocks to be Implemented on Mumbai’s Central, Western and Harbor Railway Lines On Sunday
Mumbai, 22nd April223: In order to conduct necessary maintenance and repair work on railway tracks, overhead wires, and signal systems, mega blocks will be implemented on all three railway lines of Central, Western and Harbor on Sunday.
The Central Railway’s Matunga-Mulund up and down slow line will be blocked, while the CSMT-Chunabhatti/Bandra up and down line on Harbor line will also be closed. A night mega block will also be conducted on the Mahim-Mumbai Central Up fast line of the Western Railway.
On the Central Railway line, the block period will be from 11.5 am to 3.55 pm on the Matunga-Mulund up and down slow route. During this time, local trains departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) on the slow line will be diverted to the fast line between Matunga and Mulund stations, stopping at Shiv, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, and Mulund stations. They will then be diverted back to the slow line before Mulund station. Locals on the up slow line from Thane will be diverted to the up fast line between Mulund-Matunga stations, stopping at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla, and Shiv stations. Further ups will be rerouted on the slower route.
On the Harbor Railway line, the block period will be from 11 am to 4.40 pm on the CSMT-Chunabhatti/Bandra up and down route. Down local services departing from CSMT and Wadala for Vashi, Belapur, and Panvel will be cancelled during the block period, while services departing from Panvel, Belapur, and Vashi for CSMT on Up Harbor route and Goregaon, Bandra will also be cancelled. Service on CSMT departing Up Harbor route will remain closed. However, special local services will be operated between Panvel and Kurla (Flat No. 8) during the block period.
Finally, on the Western Railway line, the block period will be from 12 pm to 4 am on the Mumbai Central to Mahim Up Express Line and 5th Line on Saturday. During this time, all local services on the Up Fast Line will be diverted to the Up Slow Line between Santa Cruz and Churchgate stations. There will be no daytime mega block on Western Railway on Sunday.
