MMRDA To Construct Flyover To Reduce Congestion From Thane To Mumbai

Mumbai, 20th February 2023: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has decided to construct another flyover to ease the traffic congestion in Thane and make it easier to go directly to Mumbai from Thane. This bridge is from Kopri to Patni. MMRDA has invited tenders to prepare a detailed project report for this bridge. The reported work will be started after completing this tender process. A report is expected to be submitted after six months.

To go from Thane to Navi Mumbai, Thanekars have to do a lot of work. One has to cross the bridge from Kalwa Nayak to Navi Mumbai. Therefore, the locals have been demanding the construction of a bridge between Vitava-Kopri for the past few days. Accordingly, the state government has given the responsibility of this bridge to MMRDA. After that MMRDA decided to build a bridge between Kopri to Patni and started preparations for it, it has taken the first step in this direction. Tenders have recently been invited by MMRDA to prepare a detailed project report for this bridge.

According to this tender, the bridge will be approximately 600 meters long. The road connecting to the bridge will be approximately 400 meters long. This bridge will be started from Visarjan Ghat of Kopri. 234 crores are expected to be spent on this work. Now, the tender for the detailed project report will be finalized in the next few days, and the reported work will be started. After that, the report is likely to be submitted in six months. After the submission of the report, the tender process for the actual construction of the bridge will be conducted and then the work will begin. That means it will take a long time to start the work of the bridge. But if this bridge is built, the journey from Thane to Navi Mumbai will be fast and easy. Therefore, this step taken by MMRDA for the construction of this bridge is a relief to the people of Thane and Navi Mumbai.
