Mumbai Awakens to Early Monsoon Showers, Bringing Relief from Heat
Mumbai, 5th June 2024: The first pre-monsoon showers gently kissed Mumbai on Wednesday morning, offering a refreshing reprieve to its inhabitants from the relentless heat and humidity. As Mumbaikars emerged into the day, they were greeted by a veil of clouds, and by 7 am, light rain delicately graced several parts of the city.
Areas like Dadar, Kandivali, Magathane, Oshiwara, Wadala, and Ghatkopar experienced a sprinkle ranging from 4 mm to 26 mm between 7 am and 8 am, as reported by a civic official. Even central and south Mumbai received a gentle caress of rain.
Despite the showers, the pulse of the city remained steady with road traffic and train services operating normally, ensuring the rhythm of daily life persisted uninterrupted.
Traditionally, the monsoon envelops Mumbai in the second week of June, but this early tease of rain serves as a gentle reminder of the imminent seasonal shift.
Reflecting on recent weather events, Mumbai had encountered unexpected rain accompanied by gusty winds last month, a tumult that tragically claimed lives when a hoarding collapsed in the Ghatkopar area.
