Mumbai: BEST Bus Driver Beaten Up, Accused Arrested

Mumbai, 29th December 2022: Charkop police arrested a bike rider who beat up a driver by blocking a Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) bus in Kandivali. The police informed that a case has been registered against the two-wheeler owner for obstructing government work and assaulting the driver.

Bhavesh Pawar (32), who lives in Nalasopara, is working as a bus driver in the BEST initiative. He operates buses on the route between Kandivali railway station – Charkop. Today, as the bus was passing Milan Junction Chowk, a biker parked his bike in front of the bus. When Pawar stopped the bus, the young man started abusing him. After that, he opened the door and started beating Pawar.

As he was pulled down from the bus, his uniform tore too. At that time, the police who were passing by tried to stop the bike rider. But the biker threatened the police too. He caught their collar. After this, the citizens caught the youth and took him to the Charkop police station. After a complaint made by Pawar, the police arrested the young man for obstructing government work.
