Mumbai: Case Registered Against One After Two Children Die By Drowning

Mumbai, 24th December 2022: In the case of two children drowning in the sea at Worli Koliwada, the Dadar police have finally registered a case against one for negligence causing death. The officer said that the Dadar police registered the case based on the complaint filed by the mother of the deceased son Karthik Chaudhary.

Two children, Karthik Chaudhary (eight) and Savita Pal (12) died on 18th November after drowning in the sea at Koliwada, Worli. Kartiki Patil (13), Aryan Chaudhary (10) and Om Chandrajit Pal (14) survived. Sources informed that a case was registered against Gautam Patil on Friday based on the complaint of Mayawati Chaudhary (30).

Chaudhary’s children, Aryan and Kartik, went to play in the sea. Gautam Patil was teaching them to swim. He was teaching children to swim without using any protective equipment. After that, Patil came back to the shore. The children were hit by a massive wave. Patil saved only his daughter. The complaint alleges neglect of other children.

News of five children drowning in the sea at Worli Koliwada spread like wildfire, and locals rushed to the spot. All five drowning children were pulled out of the sea. Three of them were admitted to KEM and Hinduja Hospitals for treatment. Residents were the first to pull the drowning trio Kartiki, Aryan and Om out of the sea. But Karthik Chaudhary and Savita Pal were a little far away. During the search, both were found in the Nariman Bhat area. Doctors declared them dead.
