Mumbai: CIDCO Corporation Set to Recruit Over 100 Employees in Urgent Move to Fill Vacant Posts

Panvel, 10th November 2023: The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO), which has refrained from recruiting employees for several years, is now set to address the workforce shortage in its Accounts Department. Managing Director Anil Diggikar has issued immediate instructions for the recruitment of employees to fill approved posts, acknowledging the increased workload on existing staff. The CIDCO Board is planning to initiate the recruitment process for over 100 posts during or after Diwali.

The Accounts Department of CIDCO Board currently operates with 97 employees, although there are 202 sanctioned posts. This shortfall has resulted in a strain on the available workforce, prompting the Managing Director to expedite the recruitment process. Instructions have been given to advertise the positions of Accounts Clerk during or after Diwali.

The CIDCO Employees Union had consistently advocated for the recruitment of employees due to the increased workload on existing staff. However, the previous Managing Director, Sanjay Mukherjee, had ignored these demands. With Anil Diggikar assuming the role of Managing Director, he prioritized addressing the workers’ concerns and provided instructions to find a resolution.

This move comes as a significant shift from previous practices, as Anil Diggikar became the first Managing Director to address the concerns of workers, including the adjustment of working hours for firemen. Previously working 24-hour shifts, firemen will now adhere to an eight-hour workday, aligning with labour laws. CIDCO Employees Union President Vinod Patil expressed satisfaction with the current administration’s proactive approach to addressing the problems faced by the workers.
