Mumbai: Devastating Blaze Engulfs Residential Building In Goregaon, Claims Seven Lives
Goregaon, 6th October 2023: In a devastating incident, a massive fire erupted in the parking space of a residential building in Goregaon, Mumbai. So far, the deaths of seven people have been confirmed in this conflagration.
At 3 o’clock at midnight, a sudden fire broke out in the Jai Bhavani Building in Goregaon West. As everyone was sound asleep in the night, timely information about the incident couldn’t reach the people, tragically resulting in the loss of seven lives thus far and raising concerns about the potential for further casualties.”
In a matter of few minutes after the fire erupted, this five-story building was entirely engulfed by the raging inferno. In this, some shops and cars on the ground floor have been gutted into the fire. Police informed that seven people have died in this mishap, including one male, three females, and two minor girls.
As soon as the civic administration learned about the incident, a team of fire brigade personnel and police rushed to the scene. Fire brigade personnel rescued other stranded people from the building and transported the other injured citizens to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Mumbai Police declared the fire of a ‘level 2’ type.
Taking note of this incident, the chief minister of the state, Eknath Shinde, has directed Mumbai City District Guardian Minister Deepak Kesarkar and Mumbai Suburban District Guardian Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha to visit the incident site. Furthermore, the Chief Minister has instructed that the families of the citizens who tragically lost their lives in this accident should receive financial assistance of Rs five lakh each. Additionally, the government will cover the entire cost of medical treatment for the victims.
