Mumbai: Discovery of Decomposed Bodies in Vasai Prompts Investigation into Potential Gas Hazard

Vasai, 5th February 2024: Mumbai Police discovered three decomposed bodies in a locked house in Vasai, triggered by a pungent odour emanating from the premises. The deceased individuals, known by the nicknames Mo Ajam, Raju, and Chhotku, were found without discernible injury marks. The incident unfolded in Anand Nagar, Vasai, and raised concerns as a pervasive smell of gas permeated the residence, indicating potential hazards.

Residents in the vicinity became alarmed when they reported the foul odour emanating from the second floor of the building on Sunday afternoon. Responding to this information, law enforcement authorities swiftly entered the premises and made the grim discovery of the three lifeless bodies, coupled with the presence of a pervasive gas odour within the house.

The deceased were identified as fruit sellers from Anand Nagar, Vasai. Preliminary investigations suggest the possibility that a gas source may have been left activated, leading to a depletion of oxygen and ultimately causing the demise of the individuals. However, a conclusive determination of the exact cause awaits further examination through post-mortem procedures.
