Mumbai: Dombivli BJP Office Bearer Accused of Molestation; Woman Files Complaint, Police Initiate Investigation

Dombivli, 1st June 2023: A senior office bearer of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Dombivli, Nandu Joshi, has been accused of molestation by a woman. The complainant approached the Manpada police station, alleging that Joshi had threatened to evict her and demanded physical favors.

The Manpada police have registered a case based on the woman’s complaint and have initiated an investigation into the matter. Nandu Joshi, who denies the allegations, claims that the woman in question is the wife of his friend and that they have been having arguments. According to Joshi, the woman is making false accusations due to her anger over his supposed favoritism towards his friend. He insists that he has never contacted or messaged her before and is urging the police to conduct a thorough investigation.

The case has sparked political controversy, with some parties criticizing the behavior of the Manpada police station. BJP Kalyan District President, Shashikant Kamble, has accused the police of conspiring to defame Nandu Joshi by filing a false case against him. Kamble has even threatened to organize a protest in front of the Manpada Police Station at 11 am on Thursday to express their dissatisfaction.

The seriousness of the allegations and the involvement of a prominent political figure has raised public concern, emphasizing the importance of a fair and unbiased investigation.
