Mumbai, 1st June 2023: Union Minister Narayan Rane and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav met on Wednesday to address the concerns of railway passengers in Konkan, particularly the demand for additional Ganpati special trains during Ganeshotsav.

The Railway Minister has responded positively to the needs of passengers in the Konkan region.

Every year, lakhs of devotees from Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai travel to Konkan for Ganeshotsav. However, securing confirmed railway tickets has become a daunting task for them. With trains getting fully booked within minutes and the prevalence of brokers inflating ticket prices, passengers often end up with waiting tickets.

In light of these challenges, Union Minister Narayan Rane held discussions with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in Delhi. The meeting focused on the allegations of irregularities in Ganeshotsav ticket bookings and the demand for more festival special trains for passengers traveling to Konkan. The Railway Minister has responded positively to these concerns.

The Railway Minister has assured appropriate action regarding the allegations of irregularities in Ganeshotsav ticket reservations and has agreed to introduce more Utsav special trains. Additionally, the Tutari Express will now make a halt at Nadangaon station in Sindhudurg district. The introduction of the Vande Bharat service on the Konkan Railway at Kankavali has also been approved.

Furthermore, the Railway Minister has given the green light to the proposal for constructing a railway underpass at Padve. Union Minister Narayan Rane expressed satisfaction with the positive discussion held on the mini toy train, which holds significant importance for tourism in the Konkan region.
