Mumbai: ED Confiscated Benami Properties In Connection With Mahadev Book Betting App Case From Mumbai And Bhopal

Mumbai, 13th October 2023: In the much-controversial Mahadev book betting app case, another shocking piece of news came out in the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation. According to sources, ED learned that the company had purchased many Benami properties in Mumbai and other parts of the country. ED impounded these properties on Thursday in its ongoing investigation.

ED expects that the total turnover of this entire betting business is around 5000 crores, and this money has been widely connected with benami transactions and underworld activities in the country.

It is anticipated that the principal accused in this case purchased multitudinous Benami properties in Bhopal, Mumbai, and other regions of India, with plans to construct a luxurious five-star hotel near Mumbai. According to Sources, all of the purchased property is benami in nature, and the ED is looking into this matter further.

The ED is investigating the embezzled properties bought with the misappropriated funds in this case. ED is now exploring whether Saurbah Chandrakar, the owner of the Mahadev book betting app and prime suspect in this case, has any connection with these properties. Meanwhile, ED attached a benami bungalow and land purchase by the accused in this case from Bhopal.

In the last week, ED raided multiple locations in the country, such as Delhi, Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, in connection with this case. Similarly, Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Heena Khan, and Kapil Sharma have been summoned for investigation.

The Mahadev Online Book Betting App is promoted by Saurabh Chandrakar and partner Ravi Uppal. According to the information, the entire turnover of this betting business is around 5000 crores. The app is operated from the UAE, and its computer system and website system are located in the Netherlands. ED suspects that call centres are being run from Nepal, Dubai, and Sri Lanka to promote the app.
