Mumbai: ED Raids Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra’s Juhu Properties in Pornography Case

Mumbai, 29th November 2024: Actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, find themselves in fresh legal trouble as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at their Juhu residence and office in connection with an ongoing investigation into a pornography network case.

The ED’s action comes after registering a case linked to Kundra’s alleged involvement in producing and distributing pornographic content. This raid marks a new chapter in the case, which first came to light in 2021 when Kundra was arrested on charges of producing pornographic films.

In June 2021, Raj Kundra was taken into custody, with Mumbai Police identifying him as the primary mastermind behind a pornographic film production and distribution network. The police claimed Kundra and his company earned crores of rupees through this illegal activity while allegedly using sophisticated means to bypass Indian laws.

Kundra spent two months in jail before being granted bail in September 2021. The recent ED raids suggest that the authorities are intensifying their investigation into the financial aspects of the case, including suspected money laundering.

The case first surfaced on February 4, 2021, after a young woman lodged a complaint at Malvani Police Station in Mumbai. The complaint alleged that aspiring actresses were being coerced into participating in pornographic films under the pretense of securing legitimate roles in films or OTT projects.

Following the complaint, Mumbai Police raided a bungalow in Malad West, where a pornographic film shoot was reportedly in progress. Eleven people, including a Bollywood actress, were arrested during the raid.

The ED is now investigating the financial trail connected to Kundra’s alleged operations, including profits generated from the distribution of pornographic content. The raids on Kundra and Shetty’s properties are aimed at uncovering further evidence in the case.
