Mumbai: Fatal Shooting of Abhishek Ghosalkar, Son of Shiv Sena Leader Vinod Ghosalkar in Dahisar – Perpetrator Mauris Bhai Streams Murder Live on Facebook

Mumbai, 8th February 2024: In a shocking incident, Abhishek Ghosalkar, the son of former Shiv Sena (Thackeray group) MLA Vinod Ghosalkar and a former corporator, was fatally attacked in his office in Dahisar. The assailant, identified as Mauris Bhai, reportedly fired two to three shots at Abhishek, leading to his critical condition.
Former corporator Balkrishna Brid revealed that the horrifying incident took place when Mauris fired at Abhishek within the confines of his office. The chilling aspect of this tragedy is that Mauris live-streamed the entire murder on his Facebook account. Abhishek had engaged in a Facebook Live session with Mauris, who had invited him to his office for a Saree distribution program. The conversation took a grim turn when, after concluding their discussion, gunshots and screams permeated the video. Shockingly, the Facebook Live stream continued for an additional five hours, capturing the aftermath of the heinous act.
Brid, recounting the sequence of events, stated, “Anant Gite, Vinod Ghosalkar, and I were attending a program in Dahisar when activists approached us with news of the shooting. Although we were not present at the scene, the gravity of the situation became apparent. Abhishek has been rushed to the hospital, and his condition is reported as critical.”
Abhishek is currently receiving treatment at Karuna Hospital, with footage emerging of the office’s glass breaking due to the gunfire. The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting. The motive behind this shocking act remains unclear.
