Mumbai: Five Arrested for Gang Rape of 12-Year-Old Girl

Mumbai, 6th March 2025: Mumbai authorities have apprehended five individuals suspected of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old student. The incident came to light when the child, who resides with her uncle’s family, failed to return home after school on February 24.
Two days later, the uncle, employed as a driver, reported her missing to the police. On February 27, railway police discovered the girl at Dadar station and transferred her to the appropriate police station.
Upon questioning, the child revealed she had been sexually assaulted by five people, leading to their subsequent arrest. Law enforcement has filed charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bhartiya Nyaay Sanhita, specifically for the gang rape of a minor. The investigation is ongoing, according to police statements.
