Mumbai: Former Minister and NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad Faces Defamation Case, Claims Video was Morphed

Mumbai, 1st June 2023: Former minister and NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad has been charged with defamation against the Sindhi community, prompting him to respond by sharing the original video of his speech on Twitter. Awad alleged that the viral video was morphed and criticized the Shinde-Fadnavis government.

Awhad stated, “A troublemaker from the Sindhi community manipulated my speech to defame me simply because I visited Ulhasnagar to meet and support my party leader Pappu Kalani. This morphed video was then circulated throughout the Sindhi community.”

“I am now uploading the original video. Who has been inciting the Sindhi community by spreading a false video for two days? The Sindhi community is well aware of the truth. This incident occurred in Ulhasnagar, and a false case has been filed against me. Now, I question the authorities: with both the morphed and original videos available, who will they file a case against?” Awhad inquired.

Awad further expressed, “Cases cannot be filed based on false statements and fabricated evidence without understanding the truth. I have always held the utmost respect for the Sindhi community, and that remains unchanged. However, this dubious individual is trying to gain political mileage. The Shinde group and BJP leaders should take note.”

“No matter how hard you try to trap me, the truth will prevail. While the Thane police rushed to file a case against me, they should now file a case against those who compelled them to file a false case,” demanded Jitendra Awhad.
