Mumbai: Government Of Maharashtra Confers The First Udyog Ratna Award To Ratan Tata In A Low-Key Ceremony At His House

Mumbai, 19th June 2023: In a modest yet impactful event, business tycoon Ratan Tata was honoured with this year’s Udyog Ratna Award by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The ceremony took place at Tata’s residence, the ‘Halekai’ bungalow in Mumbai, in the presence of distinguished guests, including Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.

 

The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister adorned Ratan Tata with a shawl and bouquet while presenting him with the prestigious Udyog Ratna award. The accolade was accompanied by a certificate, a generous monetary prize of Rs 25 lakh, and a specially crafted portrait of the industrialist.

 

The Principal Secretary of the Industries Department, Harshdeep Kamble, took the opportunity to read out the certificate awarded to Ratan Tata, underscoring his contributions to the industrial landscape. Notable figures, including Industry Minister Uday Samant, School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar, and MIDC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Bipin Sharma, were also present at the occasion.
