During this there was a clash of Shiv Sena workers with the police. Barricades were broken. For a long time, Shiv Sena workers stood outside their residence. Eventually the Rana couple had to withdraw their program.

Arrested on complaint of Shiv Sainiks

According to the information received, the Shiv Sainiks had filed a complaint alleging that the couple hurt their sentiments. The complaint said that Matoshree (Uddhav Thackeray’s residence) is like a temple for them, so announcing both of them to recite Hanuman Chalisa at Matoshree amounts to hurting the sentiments. Accordingly, a case was registered against Navneet Rana and Ravi Rana under section 153 (A) of the Indian Penal Code. After this, the Mumbai Police reached their residence in Mumbai and took both of them to Khar police station. After interrogation of both, Mumbai Police confirmed that they have been arrested for hurting religious sentiments. Both will be produced in Bandra Court tomorrow i.e. on Sunday.

Help sought from Devendra Fadnavis

Navneet Rana said in a conversation with the media that she is an MP and her husband is an MLA. Both are the representatives of the people. In such a situation, the behavior of Mumbai Police with them is condemnable. Navneet Rana has sought help from BJP leader and former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.
