Mumbai on High Alert After Threat Report Near Uddhav Thackeray’s Residence

Mumbai, 16th January 2024: Law enforcement authorities in Mumbai have ramped up security measures in response to a tip received by the DG office police control room. A concerned citizen reported overhearing a conversation on a train bound for Gujarat, suggesting a potential threat outside Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s residence, Matoshree, situated at Kala Nagar in Bandra East.

The alert stemmed from a call where the informant conveyed that individuals in the train conversation hinted at the possibility of a significant event near Uddhav Thackeray’s bungalow. Promptly recognizing the seriousness of the information, the responsible citizen contacted the police control room, emphasizing the need to alert authorities.

Authorities are actively engaged in verifying the information provided by the caller. Collaborating with the railways, they are scrutinizing CCTV footage from a specific train en route to Gujarat on Monday, where the concerning conversation reportedly took place.

In response to the alert, the police are in the process of filing a FIR. Simultaneously, a warning has been issued to Mumbai police and private security agencies stationed outside Matoshree, urging heightened vigilance and extra caution.

The situation is currently under investigation, and precautionary measures are being implemented to ensure the safety and security of Uddhav Thackeray’s residence.
