Mumbai Police Busts Prostitution Racket, Rescues Four Aspiring Actresses

Mumbai, 15th March 2025: Mumbai police uncovered a prostitution racket on Friday, rescuing four aspiring female actors from a hotel in the Powai area, officials reported.
Acting on a tip-off, Powai police set up a sting operation at the hotel, where they apprehended a man identified as Shyam Sunder Arora for allegedly coercing women into the sex trade.
“Based on specific intelligence, a trap was laid at the location, leading to the arrest of Arora and the rescue of four struggling actresses,” an official stated.
One of the rescued women has previously appeared in Hindi television serials, the official added.
A case has been registered against the accused and his associate under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act at Powai Police Station. Further investigations are underway.
