Mumbai Police Registers Case Against Google CEO Sundar Pichai For Violating Copyright Act

Mumbai, 26th January 2022: Google CEO Sundar Pichai has been accused of copyright violation. On Wednesday, Mumbai Police registered a case against Pichai. Apart from Pichai, a case is also registered against five other Google officials.
Filmmaker Sunil Darshan alleged that Google permitted an unauthorized person to upload his film ‘Ek Hasina Thi Ek Deewana Tha’ on YouTube. Further investigation has started in this matter.
The complainant says that because of this move by Google, they earned crores of rupees and they (filmmaker’s) lost crores of rupees. Based on the complaint of the complainant, besides Sundar Pichai, a case has been registered against other Google officials including Gautam Anand, MD of YouTube under sections 51, 63 and 69 of the copyright violation Act.
