Mumbai Rail Block Alert: Weekend Maintenance on Western and Central Railways Disrupts Local Services

Mumbai, 11th November 2023: To facilitate crucial maintenance work, a rail block has been planned on the Western and Central Railways during the upcoming weekend.

– Western Railway Block:

Where: Churchgate – Mumbai Central on the Up and Down Express route
When: Saturday 12:15 pm to Sunday 4:15 am (4-hour block)
Effect:
All Fast Locals on up and down routes between Churchgate – Mumbai Central will be operated on the slow route.
Consequently, some local services will be cancelled during this period.

-Central Railway Main Route Block:

Where: CSMT – Vidyavihar up and down slow route
When: Sunday from 10:55 am to 3:55 pm
Result:
CSMT – Vidyavihar up and down local services on the slow route will be diverted to the fast route.
During this time, these local services will make stops at Byculla, Paral, Dadar, Matunga, Shiv, Kurla, and thereafter at fixed stations.

-Harbor Road Block:

Where: CSMT – Chunabhatti / Bandra on Up and Down route
When: Sunday from 9:53 am to 5:13 pm
Result:
CSMT – Chunabhatti / Bandra up and down local services, CSMT to Vashi / Panvel / Belapur up and down local services, and CSMT – Goregaon / Bandra local services will be cancelled during the block period.
Additional Information:

No daytime block is scheduled on Western Railway on Sundays.
A special local will be operational between Kurla – Panvel on the main harbour route during the block period.
Passengers on the Harbor route are permitted to travel by Central and Western Railway from 10 am to 6 pm.
This planned rail block is essential for carrying out crucial engineering works, including track maintenance, overhead wire adjustments, and signal system upgrades. Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly, taking note of the affected routes and altered schedules during the specified block periods.
