Mumbai Anti-Narcotics Cell Strikes Big: Rs 5 Crore Worth of Narcotics Seized, Nigerian National Among Arrested

Mumbai, 11th November 2023: In a significant operation, the Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Mumbai Crime Branch conducted raids in Kandivali and Ghatkopar, resulting in the seizure of a substantial quantity of narcotics from Dharavi and Dahisar areas. The confiscated items include MD drugs and hydroponic weed (marijuana), with an estimated international market value of Rs 5 crore.

Two individuals, including a Nigerian citizen, were arrested in connection with the case. The suspects were taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation into the narcotics trade in these regions.

News agency ANI reported the operation, stating, “Maharashtra | Kandivali & Ghatkopar units of Anti Narcotics Cell of Mumbai Crime Branch recover MD drugs and hydroponic weed from Dharavi & Dahisar areas of Mumbai. The value of the recovered drugs is approximately Rs 5 crore in the international market. 2 persons including a Nigerian national were arrested, and sent to police custody till Nov 13.”

The arrested individuals were produced before the court, which subsequently remanded them to police custody until November 13.
