Mumbai: Saif Ali Khan to Be Discharged Today After Stabbing Incident, Security Increased Around Hospital

Mumbai, 21st January 2025: Actor Saif Ali Khan, who has been receiving treatment at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, is expected to be discharged today and will soon return home. In preparation for his discharge, the Mumbai Police have ramped up security measures around the hospital to ensure both safety and proper crowd control.

Saif Ali Khan was admitted to Lilavati on January 16 after an intruder, identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, attempted to break into the actor’s Bandra home. The incident escalated when the intruder confronted Saif’s maid, and the actor was attacked when he tried to intervene. He sustained multiple stab wounds, resulting in serious injuries.

Dr Niraj Uttamani, CEO of Lilavati Hospital, provided details of Saif’s condition, stating, “Saif was admitted at 3:30 am with six stab wounds, two of which were deep. Our team of doctors has been performing surgery on him. One of the injuries is near his spine, and we’ll assess the extent of the damage only after the surgery is completed. A neurosurgeon is involved in his care.”

Dr Nitin Dange from Lilavati Hospital commended Saif’s bravery, recalling how the actor entered the hospital covered in blood but remained strong. “Despite being injured, he walked in like a lion with his young child. He’s a real hero,” Dr Dange remarked. “He is currently in stable condition, his vital signs have improved, and we are moving him from the ICU to a special room. We will be restricting visitors to ensure he gets the rest he needs.”
