Mumbai: Speeding Car Collides with Electric Pole in Chembur, Leaving Five Injured
Mumbai, 13th August 2023: In a late-night mishap on Friday, a speeding car careened into an electric pole at the heart of Chembur, after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The incident resulted in injuries to five individuals, including two women, who are presently receiving medical care at Rajawadi Hospital.
The incident transpired when an Ertiga car, which had embarked on its journey from Santacruz and was en route to Thane post-midnight on Saturday, encountered a grave accident. The driver grappled with the car’s acceleration as it traversed the Tilaknagar flyover. Consequently, the vehicle crashed headlong into an electric pole situated at the center of the road. The impact of the collision was severe, causing extensive damage to the car.
Upon being alerted about the accident, Tilaknagar police promptly rushed to the scene. With the valuable assistance of the fire brigade, they successfully extricated five individuals who had been trapped within the mangled wreckage. Subsequently, all five injured occupants, including the two women, were swiftly transported and admitted to Rajawadi Hospital for immediate medical attention.
Following the unfortunate incident, a temporary traffic congestion ensued in the surrounding area. However, the diligent efforts of the police ensured the timely removal of the accident-involved vehicle, swiftly restoring the normal flow of traffic. The Tilaknagar police have formally recorded the incident and initiated a comprehensive investigation to determine the factors contributing to the accident.
