Mumbai: Trouble For Aryan Khan May Increase As NCB Planning To Challenge Bail In Supreme Court

Mumbai, 22 November 2021: In the cruise drug case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seems to be in a mood to increase the trouble of Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who is out on bail. NCB is contemplating to approach the Supreme Court against the bail granted to Aryan Khan from the Bombay High Court in the drug case.

The NCB said that the authorities are considering whether they want to file an appeal against Aryan Khan’s bail before the Supreme Court. At present, NCB is now taking legal opinion after examining the bail order of Bombay High Court.

Drugs were allegedly recovered during the NCB raid on the Cordelia cruise ship bound for Goa on October 2. In this case, Aryan Khan was arrested on 3 October after a long interrogation. However, the Bombay High Court had granted bail on October 28 with several conditions. A single bench of Justice N W Sambre had on October 28 granted bail to Aryan Khan, his friend Arbaaz Merchant and model Munmun Dhamecha on a surety of Rs 1 lakh.

The 14-page detailed order of the Bombay High Court said that prima facie no positive evidence has been found against Aryan Khan, including other accused, to show that they conspired to commit the crime. The court had said that the WhatsApp chats taken from Aryan Khan’s mobile phone showed that nothing objectionable was found to show that the other accused had conspired to commit the crime.

The order also said that the confession statement of Aryan Khan recorded by the NCB under Section 67 of the NDPS Act can be taken into account only for the purpose of investigation. It cannot be used as a weapon to conclude that the accused has committed any offense under the NDPS Act.
