Mumbai University Faces Criticism for Delayed Results and Disordered Schedule of Exams

Mumbai, 27th April 2023: Students of the Department of Journalism and Journalism at Mumbai University’s Kalina complex are facing disarray as they await their exam results and schedule.

The examination for the third session of the two-year post-graduate course was conducted on December 28, 2022, and four months later, the students are still waiting for the results. In addition, despite the offline filling of the exam application form for the fourth session, which is scheduled to begin on May 9, 2023, the students have not been provided with the detailed schedule and admit cards for the exam, leading to an atmosphere of anxiety among the students.

Various student organizations are condemning the university’s mismanagement, and students are struggling to plan their travel as many come from different states, including Maharashtra, to attend the Department of Journalism and Journalism. The university has cited technical hurdles as the cause of the delay in releasing the results, but assures that the evaluation process of the third semester exam answer sheets has been completed, and they are working to resolve the issues causing the delay.

The university’s Board of Examinations and Evaluation has urged students not to be confused by the situation and has promised to provide a detailed schedule for the fourth session exam soon. However, this situation is not unique to the journalism department, as students from other faculties have also faced similar delays, leading to concerns over the university’s ability to manage the exam process effectively.
