Mumbai: Young Man Lost His Life After Falling On Railway Track In Brutal Assault By Couple
Sion, 17th August 2023: A 26-year-old man lost his life after a brutal assault by fellow passengers on the platform of Sion railway station. The incident occurred yesterday on Platform 1 of Sion Railway Station.
According to eyewitnesses, the victim, identified as Dinesh Rathod, accidentally collided with a female passenger while boarding the train. Seemingly agitated by the accidental contact, the lady started bickering with a man, unleashing a series of blows upon Rathod on the platform.
Afterwards, the lady’s husband also entered the fray, further intensifying the assault on Rathod. In the midst of the chaotic scuffle, the couple pushed Rathod onto the railway track. Unfortunately, an oncoming local train from Matunga struck Rathod, inflicting him severe injuries.
Rathod was then immediately admitted to the nearby hospital for further medical treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. It has been learned that Rathod was working as an ST carrier in Mumbai.
Dadar Railway Police immediately arrested the individuals responsible for this tragedy. Police booked Avinash Mane (31), and his wife, Sheetal Mane (30), on charges of culpable homicide in this case.
