Mumbai’s Daytime Temperature Drops Below 30°C After Weekend Heatwave

Mumbai, 29th January 2025: After reaching 35°C over the weekend, Mumbai’s daytime temperatures dropped below 30°C on Tuesday, as per the IMD’s Colaba observatory. The maximum temperature recorded at Colaba was 29°C, which is 1.2°C lower than usual. Meanwhile, Santacruz saw a maximum temperature of 32°C, slightly above the normal by 0.4°C, reflecting near-normal conditions.
The IMD attributed the recent heatwave to a delayed sea breeze. However, the drop in temperatures on Tuesday provided much-needed relief to the city, which has been experiencing unusually warm weather during the winter season.
The minimum temperatures also decreased, with the IMD Colaba and Santacruz observatories recording 20.3°C and 18°C, respectively, both close to normal. According to the IMD, no significant changes in maximum temperatures are expected across Maharashtra in the next 4-5 days. The weather forecast for January 29 predicts mainly clear skies in the city and suburbs, with temperatures expected to range between 33°C and 18°C.
