Navi Mumbai: 2385 KG Plastic Stock Seized From Turbhe, Strict Action Against Single-Use Plastic

Turbhe, 6th March 2023: Strict action has been taken against the use of single-use plastic by the Turbhe department near the APMC market area, known as the largest market in Asia. Action has been taken regarding a large amount of plastic bags and prohibited plastic stocks in Raj Marketing at Turbhe Store. A total of 2,385 kg of prohibited plastic stock was seized in a sudden raid on the premises, and a fine of Rs 5,000 was collected from the concerned as it was a first offence.

Similar to taking action to prevent the sale and use of plastic in retail use, now the Municipal Corporation has focused its attention on a large amount of plastic stock in the ban. Bharat Dhande, Department Officer of Turbhe Division, Deputy Commissioner of Solid Waste Management Department Dr Babasaheb Rajle, Junior Engineer Raj Nagargoje, Sanitation Inspector Mahendra Rode, Sidhu Pujari, Yogesh Patil and security guards carried out this action. After confiscating this stock, it has been disposed of using a crusher machine at the solid waste management project site at Turbhe of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
