Navi Mumbai: Cidco Extends Registration Deadline for My Preferred Home Scheme to 25th January

Navi Mumbai, 24th January 2025: The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) has announced an extension for registrations under its My Preferred Home scheme, which offers 26,000 affordable homes in Navi Mumbai. Applicants now have until January 25 to register, and the deadline for selecting and prioritizing 15 housing options is January 26.

This is the fourth extension since the scheme’s launch in October 2024, with around 55,000 applicants having already paid the registration fee.

The scheme offers homes for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Low-Income Group (LIG) categories in several Navi Mumbai nodes, including Vashi, Bamandongri, Kharghar, Taloja, Mansarovar, Kharkopar, Khandeshwar, Panvel, and Kalamboli. These homes are being sold under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

Applicants need to pay a registration fee, choose their preferred homes, and then pay a booking fee. Cidco has emphasized that this extension will be the final opportunity for potential buyers to participate in the scheme.

There has been some dissatisfaction among applicants regarding the pricing of the homes. Former Cidco chairman Sanjay Shirsat had suggested that the prices could be revised, but after his tenure ended, no such changes occurred. Shantanu Goyal, Cidco’s Joint Managing Director, assured that the prices would not be reduced.

“The homes are of high quality, and applicants can visit the experience centers to see sample flats and understand why the rates are justified. The prices are based on land rates, quality, and location,” Goyal explained.

Cidco stated that the pricing follows ready-reckoner rates, and the homes are equipped with modern amenities. In the future, these homes will be well-connected to urban infrastructure, making them a viable option for buyers.
