Bengaluru Techie Nihar Chitnis Joins Coldplay’s Chris Martin on Stage at Mumbai Concert

Navi Mumbai, 21st January 2025: In an unforgettable moment for any Coldplay fan, Chris Martin invited Bengaluru techie Nihar Chitnis to join him on stage during the band’s recent concert at Mumbai’s DY Patil stadium. Performing in front of a crowd of around 70,000 people, the iconic musician interacted with Nihar and even sang a few lines with him, making it a “dream come true” experience for the fan.

Nihar shared the thrilling moment on Instagram, explaining how he managed to catch Chris’s attention in the sea of concertgoers. As a long-time Coldplay fan, Nihar knew that Chris often invites a fan to sing three specific songs—Everglow, Magic, and Up&Up—during each show. With “Everglow” already performed, Nihar hoped to sing “Magic” alongside Chris.

To stand out, Nihar created a sign that read, “Chris, Can we sing Magic together please?” and positioned himself near the front of the stage. His persistence paid off when Chris noticed the sign and invited him on stage. During their brief exchange, Chris asked Nihar about his profession, to which Nihar proudly said, “I am a software engineer from Bengaluru.”

Together, the two performed a few lines of “Magic,” and Nihar described the experience as truly worth the effort of getting on stage with his idol.

Nihar quickly became an internet sensation, with fellow concertgoers taking photos with him after the show. Fans flooded social media, expressing their excitement. One user wrote, “We were screaming, crying, throwing hands at your luck. You’re a software engineer, but congratulations on living all of our dreams!” Another fan added, “So amazing to see a Bengaluru guy go up on stage. Watched you live, so happy and proud of you.”
