Navi Mumbai Doctor Couple Allegedly Defraud Medical Shop Owner of Rs 1.27 Crore

Navi Mumbai, 5th August 2024: On Sunday, police reported that a medical shop owner was allegedly defrauded of ₹1.27 crore by a doctor couple based in Navi Mumbai.

A case has been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at the NRI police station against Dr Dhaval Khanayalal Derashri, Dr Lata Derashri, and Khanayalal Derashri, based on the complainant’s allegations.

According to the complaint, Derashris, who operates a hospital in the Seawoods area of Navi Mumbai, had offered the complainant a pharmacy within their facility in 2013 and took ₹49 lakh from him. They also reportedly bought medicines worth ₹48 lakh but did not settle the payment, and additionally borrowed ₹30 lakh which they have yet to return.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made as of now.
