From Actor to Producer: Supyarde Singh Launches Her Own Production House in Mumbai
Mumbai, 21st May 2026: After steadily building her career across Tamil, Telugu and Hindi entertainment platforms, actor Supyarde Singh is now stepping into a new role behind the camera. The actor has launched her own banner, Anant Drishti Production Private Limited, in Mumbai’s Andheri area, signalling a transition from actor to producer with a focus on content-driven cinema.
For Supyarde, the move is not merely a business expansion but an attempt to shape stories from conception to screen. Industry observers note that more actors are increasingly turning producers to gain creative control over projects and back narratives they believe deserve wider attention. Supyarde’s production house appears to follow that path, with an emphasis on socially relevant storytelling blended with mainstream cinematic appeal.
Her acting journey began with acclaimed filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s Tamil romantic drama Kaatru Veliyidai in 2017. Featuring music composed by A.R. Rahman, the film earned critical appreciation and later received recognition at the 65th National Film Awards. Supyarde’s portrayal of the character Varsha introduced her to audiences and established her as a promising new face capable of handling emotionally layered roles.
Over the years, she expanded her work into Telugu cinema with films such as Cheppina Evaru Nammaru and Lingoccha – The Game of Love. Her performance as Noorjahan in the latter drew attention for its emotional complexity and screen presence. She also explored the digital entertainment space through the Hindi web series I Love Us Season 2, reflecting the growing crossover between regional cinema and OTT platforms.
Now, with Anant Drishti Production Private Limited, Supyarde is preparing to headline and produce a new feature film that she says will combine entertainment with a strong social message. The project is currently in development and brings together a team of experienced industry professionals.
The film will be directed by Sanjay Shashtri, a theatre-rooted filmmaker known for his long association with stage productions and independent cinema. Over two decades, he has directed more than 25 plays, several award-winning short films and web projects currently under production. Cinematography for the film will be handled by Ajay Pal Singh, who has worked on over 85 commercial advertisements and is also associated with an upcoming film project expected to release on Netflix.
The cast features a mix of emerging and established performers.
Alongside Supyarde Singh, actors Chandan Roy and Varun Buddhadev will appear in lead roles. The supporting ensemble includes noted actors Akhilendra Mishra, Pramod Pathak, Mukesh Bhatt, Kumar Saurabh and Tulika Banerjee, all of whom are expected to play pivotal roles central to the film’s emotional and dramatic arc.
As the Indian film industry witnesses a growing wave of actor-led production ventures, Anant Drishti Production Private Limited enters the space with aspirations of balancing commercial storytelling with socially conscious themes. For Supyarde Singh, the launch represents not just a new company, but a broader creative ambition — one that seeks to move beyond performance and into storytelling with purpose.
