Navi Mumbai: Hema Malini Shares Joy of ISKCON Kharghar Temple’s Inauguration Set for January 2025
Navi Mumbai, 2nd January 2025: Veteran actress Hema Malini recently visited the ISKCON temple in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. On Thursday, she shared several photos from her visit on Instagram, expressing her joy and announcing that the temple will be inaugurated on January 15, 2025.
In her post, she wrote, “A beautiful new temple is being built in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, very close to my heart. ISKCON has created a stunning temple where Radha Madanmohan is the presiding deity.”
She continued, “This achievement is the result of the unwavering dedication of Surdas Prabhu Ji and countless devotees and artisans who have worked tirelessly for 10 years to bring this temple to life. I had the privilege of offering my respects to the site on New Year’s Day, and it was an immensely fulfilling experience. The temple will be inaugurated on January 15, 2025, by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji.”
In addition to this, Hema Malini recently participated in a cleanliness awareness rally. On Monday, she shared pictures from the event on her Instagram. “I joined a rally of 200 children at Parikrama Marg in Vrindavan, organized by Mayor Shri Vinod Agarwal and Municipal Commissioner Shri Shashank Chaudhary, to raise awareness about the importance of ‘Swachhata Abhiyan’ (cleanliness and hygiene).”
On the professional front, Hema Malini secured a third consecutive win in the Mathura Lok Sabha constituency. In the 2019 elections, she won with a significant margin, receiving 6,71,293 votes, while her nearest competitor, Kunwar Narendra Singh, received 3,77,822 votes. Hema has trained in Kuchipudi under Vempati Chinna Satyam and Mohiniattam with Kalamandalam Guru Gopalakrishnan. She has performed in various dance roles, including Narasimha and Rama in Tulsidas’s ‘Ramcharitmanas.’
The actress was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2000, India’s fourth-highest civilian award.
