Robbery in Mumbai’s Agripada Area Nets Rs 1.91 Crore in Gold and Silver Jewellery

Mumbai, 2nd January 2025: A robbery in Mumbai’s Agripada area on December 29 shocked the city as two armed men looted Rishabh Jewellers, making off with gold and silver jewellery worth ₹1.91 crore.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon near Saat Rasta, according to a complaint by shop owner Bhavarlal Jain. Around 3:30 PM, two unidentified men entered the store under the guise of customers. After a brief conversation, they pulled out a country-made pistol and a knife, threatening Jain and an employee.

The robbers tied up their victims, assaulted them, and looted 2,458 grams of jewellery. A customer discovered the bound victims later and alerted the police.

Agripada Police registered a case based on Jain’s statement, and an investigation was launched. The Mumbai Crime Branch quickly identified one of the suspects as Vinod Lakhan Pal, a resident of Kandharikala village in Uttar Pradesh’s Lalitpur district.

Subsequent investigations led the authorities to Simrabhatta village in Prithvipur tehsil, Niwari district, Madhya Pradesh. A raid was conducted, resulting in the arrest of another suspect.

Both accused are now in custody, and police are interrogating them to recover the stolen items and identify any other individuals involved in the crime.
