Navi Mumbai: Legal Proceedings Initiated Against Man for Allegedly Assaulting Wife with Acid
Panvel, 11th February 2024: The Navi Mumbai police have taken legal action against Ramzan Siddiqu Gazi for allegedly assaulting his wife, Amina Khatun, by throwing acid at her during a dispute. The incident, which occurred on January 20 at their residence in Panvel, resulted in injuries to the victim’s face. Subsequently, the police have registered a case against the accused under IPC section 326(a) (Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by use of acid).
Following the attack, Amina Khatun, the victim, is presently undergoing medical treatment in her hometown in West Bengal. She has filed a formal complaint with the Beniapukur Police Station in West Bengal, leading to the transfer of the case to the Panvel Taluka Police Station. However, as of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
