Navi Mumbai: Uran Farmers and Project Victims Seek Justice, Appeal to Former MP DB Patil

Uran, 6th January 2024: Amidst growing concerns over the plight of farmers and project victims in Uran, an appeal has been made to former MP DB Pawar Patil to address the pending issues and provide justice to the Bhoomiputras (sons of the soil). The call for justice was echoed by various organizations representing the Bhoomiputras at a founding committee meeting in Jasai, where Bhushan Patil, along with other leaders, announced plans for the next movement.

 

At the founding committee meeting, Bhushan Patil urged DB Patil, the leader of the project victims, to intervene and resolve the lingering issues affecting the farmers and local land sons. The plea aims to ensure justice for all those impacted by the projects in the region. The leaders present at the meeting expressed their commitment to addressing the concerns of the Bhoomiputras and announced the initiation of the next movement.

 

A notice has been served to the Chief Minister of the state and the Managing Director of CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation) on behalf of the organization under the federation. The notice outlines a Mahadharna movement scheduled for February 20, involving representatives from 95 villages in front of CIDCO Bhavan. Additionally, a chain fast is planned at CIDCO Bhavan from March 4 to March 16. On CIDCO’s foundation day on March 17, a long march is proposed, starting from CIDCO Bhavan and concluding at the Ministry.

 

During the meeting, there was also a demand for the Prime Minister to announce the name of the airport after DB Patil, recognizing his contributions. The leaders present at the Jasai meeting included Bhushan Patil, Working President Deepak Patil, General Secretary Sudhakar Patil, Vice President Advocate Vijay Gadge, Coordinator Advocate Deepak Thakur, and prominent labour leaders Suresh Patil, Vandana Gaurikar, among

others.
