Passport Seva Office in Pune Grapples with Server Failure, Disrupting Application Processing

Pune, 8th March 2024: The Passport Seva Office in Pune has encountered issues with its website for the past two days, attributed to a server failure. This disruption has affected the processing of approximately 1,000 to 1,200 passport applications daily.

The malfunctioning website has led to difficulties for applicants in completing the application process, causing inconvenience for numerous citizens. Complaints have arisen regarding the lack of proper communication from the passport office regarding the issue.

It’s worth noting that the website and IT infrastructure maintenance for the Indian Passport Office are managed by Tata Consultancy Services, not under the direct responsibility of the Divisional Passport Office in Pune. Some applicants reported encountering problems on the website when filling out passport applications from Wednesday (6th).

Divisional Passport Officer Arjun Devare (Pune) assured that the technical problem has been brought to the attention of the Central Technical Department, and efforts are underway to promptly resolve the issue.
