Pune: Bus With Students Overturns In Khandala Ghat, Two Children Dead

Khandala, 12th December 2022: A bus with 48 passengers, mostly students, overturned at Khandala Ghat on Sunday night.

 

The bus was going towards Chembur from Lonavala when it overturned while descending from the old Mumbai-Pune highway. Two students died on the spot in this unfortunate incident.

 

According to preliminary information, six students were severely injured. All the students have been admitted to hospitals in Lonavala, Khopoli, and nearby areas.

 

The students had come for a trip to a water sports centre (water park) in Lonavala. On Sunday night, the bus carrying the students was travelling from Lonavala towards Chembur. A total of 48 class 10 students of Mayank Coaching Classes in Chembur were travelling on this bus. Two coaching class teachers were also on the bus. While descending the ghat, the bus overturned on the left side near Magic Point around 8 pm.

 

Almost all the students were injured in this accident. The injured students have been admitted to various hospitals in Lonavala, Khopoli and surrounding areas. One boy and one girl died in this unfortunate incident.
